Dionne Warwick's hit "Do you know the way to San Jose" may not have changed for some 40 years, but the same can't be said for the city. San Jose has been so dramatically transformed that it is now the largest city in Northern California and The Capital of Silicon Valley offers visitors a variety of high-tech, historic and fun attractions. The Tech also features an IMAX Dome Theater, Northern California's only domed IMAX screen. Bold colors and an unusual exterior surround the Children's Discovery Museum and if viewing 3,000-year-old mummies sounds intriguing, then you will want to visit the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum. The Winchester Mystery House, a 160-room Victorian mansion, is one of the oldest and most noted of haunted houses in California. It is filled with such oddities as stairs that lead to the ceiling, doors that open into walls and filled with legends of ghosts and spirits. The San Jose History Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of San Jose. Visit the 14-acre site of History Park and view landmarks that highlight periods of Santa Clara Valley's past. You can also walk through history by visiting the restored Peralta Adobe and Fallon House in San Pedro Square. St. Joseph Cathedral, located in the heart of the downtown, is a "work of art", designed in the form of a Greek cross, which provides perfect geometry and a floor plan that accommodates centrality for worship and performances.
