Skiing Salt Lake

Ski Salt Lake is a partnership between the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau and four Salt Lake County ski resorts – Alta Ski Area, Brighton Resort, Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort, and Solitude Mountain Resort.

They work together to brand Salt Lake as a ski and snowboard destination.

Following the success of Salt Lake's role in the Olympics and capitalizing on the city's proximity to the slopes, the partners selected "Ski Salt Lake" as its name.

Ski Salt Lake resorts are 35 minutes from downtown and 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport.

The canyons, which lie in the southeast corner of the Salt Lake Valley, are side by side and are named Big and Little Cottonwood. Brighton and Solitude resorts are in Big Cottonwood Canyon, and Alta and Snowbird sit at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

A lucky combination of geographic features gives the Ski Salt Lake resorts the driest, softest, most skiable snow in the world.

The shops at Gardner Village are housed in dozens of pioneer-era homes clustered around a 19th-century flour mill just fifteen minutes south of the city center via Interstate 15.
