Vacationers to Ohio will find offerings in four key areas: family travel, arts and culture, history and heritage and outdoor adventure. Vacationers to Ohio can travel from ancient Indian cultures to the birthplace of aviation to the world’s fastest roller coaster in less than three hours. Cincinnati Visitors can discover Cincinnati’s rich heritage at four museums in the Cincinnati Museum Center and enjoy the fun of the waterfront at the Newport Aquarium, the Beach Waterpark and at Paramount's Kings Island theme park . Cincinnati is home to the American Classical Music Hall of Fame. CINCINNATI HOTELS Attractions of historical significance are the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, the Heritage Village Museum, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and the MainStrasse Villages 19th-century village. Ulysses S. Grant's Birthplace is at Batavia, east of Cincinnati where visitors can also see Chateau LaRoche, a medieval castle scale model built by one man over a period of 51 years.CINCINNATI HOTELS Cleveland Cleveland boasts more lakeshore than any metropolitan area in the world. The city is home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Great Lakes Science Center, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Further attractions include Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and RainForest, including a treehouse for climbing and exploring, Geauga Lake family amusement park, the NASA John Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field, where visitors can learn about the space program, and Cedar Point Amusement Park. For more outdoor activities there are Lake Farmpark and Mapleside Farms as well as the extensive Cleveland Metroparks. CLEVELAND HOTELS Also, visitors can explore the ocean depths and travel into outer space at COSI Columbus. North of Columbus is Delaware where visitors can explore the Olentangy Indian Caverns, and just six miles southwest of Columbus is Grove City with its historic center. COLUMBUS HOTELS Dayton The Birthplace of Aviation, and home to the powered-flight inventors Wilbur and Orville Wright. Many of Dayton’s attractions reflect this, including the National Aviation Hall of Fame, the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, Carillon Historical Park, a collection of 22 buildings dedicated to the promotion and development of transportation, with a focus on the Wright brothers, and the US Air Force Museum which houses more than 300 aircraft. Archeologists believe the Miamisburg Mound is the work of the Adena Indians, who arrived about 1000 B.C. SunWatch Indian Village is a reconstructed Native American village that recreates the Fort Ancients' way of life. DAYTON HOTELS Dublin 20 minutes from downtown Columbus, Dublin has an unusual Field of Corn 109 massive concrete ears of corn. Many of the buildings in Old Dublin Historic District are on the National Register of Historic Places. DUBLIN HOTELS Greenville In Darke County, Greenville is the home of the Annie Oakley Foundation which is dedicated to separating Oakley fact from fiction. Portsmouth The Floodwall Murals are an outdoor art gallery, spanning 2090 feet on Front Street on the floodwall along the Ohio River, depicting the Portsmouth area's rich history. PORTSMOUTH HOTELS Sandusky Midway between Toledo and Cleveland, Sandusky is home to Cedar Point, often rated as the best amusement park in the world and home of the best roller coaster The Magnum XL-200. SANDUSKY HOTELS Steubenville One of the main attractions is the outdoor art gallery with more than 26 giant murals on the sides of buildings. Another attraction includes Fort Steuben which was built in 1787. STEUBENVILLE HOTELS Toledo The tree-lined streets of Toledo’s Historic Old West End have one of the nation’s richest collections of late Victorian houses. The Wolcott House Museum is the centerpiece of six furnished historic buildings. TOLEDO HOTELS Other Toledo attractions include the Adrian & Blissfield Railroad Co, the drive-through African Safari Wildlife Park, COSI Toledo science museum, Fort Meigs State Memorial, Sauder Farm & Craft Village, and the Toledo Museum of Art with more than 30,000 works. Southwest of Toledo is Defiance with the AuGlaize Village, a farm museum and historical village in the heartland of the Maumee River Valley. South of Toledo in Findlay are some magnificent mansions stemming from the gas and oil boom of the 1880s. And down the road is Lima where space enthusiasts will find plenty of action at the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum. Toledo Trumbull County This area has several historic districts including Mesopotamia Village, Ohio's 2nd and America's 4th largest Amish community. The National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Library & Museum is at Niles, and The National Packard Museum in Warren commemorates the birthplace of the first Packard motor-car, and the Packard family. Youngstown The Butler Institute of American Art is the first structure built in the United States dedicated to house priceless works by American artists. Other attractions include the War Vet Museum, the Loghurst Farm Museum built around 1805, and the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry & Labor. YOUNGSTOWN HOTELS Zanesville and Muskingum County Home to the Longaberger Company Manufacturing Campus in Frazeysburg where its products (baskets, pottery, fabrics, home decor and home accessories) are each shown in a shopping area resembling a room in the visitors home. Other attractions include the Ohio Ceramic Center in Crooksville which is devoted to the preservation of Pottery History, and The Wilds in Cumberland, which is concerned with preserving endangered animals.
