A predominant feature of The Hapuna Beach Prince site is the presence of a series of underground springs. In ancient times, during seasons of heavy rainfall these springs would bubble to the surface creating natural artesian fountains. The resultant streams would provide a source of respite and renewal for travelers along the otherwise dry and barren Kohala Coast. Thus the area was named /Hapuna/ or /Spring of Life/ in the Hawaiian language. There is so much to see and experience at the Hapuna Beach Hotel. You can be busy from morning to night, or if you choose you can relax and soak in the rays on the long white sand beach. The Hapuna Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course nestled in the dramatic natural contours of the land from the shoreline to about 700 feet above sea level. The course offers spectacular views of the Kohala coast and the Pacific Ocean while majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Kohala Mountains form the backdrop. In addition, guests may also elect to play at the world famous Mauna Kea Golf course, rated one of the best courses in the state. In addition to the freshwater pool and poolside Jacuzzi, guests can enjoy the white sands of lovely crescent shores of Kauna'oa Bay or no.1 rated Hapuna Beach. Activities include swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, outrigger canoe paddling, sailing, kayaking, catamaran riding, whale watching and deep-sea fishing. Windsurfing is available just 20 minutes south of our resort. KIDS EAT FREE As registered guests of the hotel, Kids Eat Free when dining with their parent April 1 through September 30, 2008 with purchase of a main course entrée at full price. Available to Kids ages 12 and under ordering from the children?s menu in designated dining outlets and meal periods. Not applicable to room service. Available at selected restaurants per meal period. Some restrictions may apply. Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel will be doing some required repair work that we estimate to take place from May 1 2008 until August 31st 2008. We are mostly repairing some cracks in the facade that run from the lobby and extend down the corridors. At times during the day, you may hear noise from the repair most of which will come from removing the existing facade. The Ocean Terrace restaurant and Reef lounge will be closed during this time period. All our other restaurants will be in full operation and the Coast Grille will also be serving breakfast. Please look for some special activities going on at the hotel during this time period. We sincerely apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding as we make these repairs. As a gesture of our appreciation for your business a daily resort credit of 35USD will be posted to your room account.

The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is located on the beach - rated the "Number one beach in America" by conde Nast Traveler, Hapuna Beach is a long stretch of pristine white sand. There is a little cove nearby where the waters are sheltered and clear. On any given day, giant sea turtles may drop in for a visit. Otherwise, it's the perfect place for swimmers and snorkelers to explore at their leisure. Adjacent to Hapuna, in front of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is Kauna'oa Bay considered by many to be the island's single most picturesque beach. Crescent-shaped with pure white sands and shimmering aqua waters, it is perfect for water sports including swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, catamaran riding, whale watching and deep-sea fishing. Even at night, guests step onto a circular lava outcropping overlooking the bay, to watch the manta rays swim beneath.
