The river offers the best open water walleye fishing in the state and great spring and fall fishing. Many boat landings are located in Baudette and on the Rainy River. Baudette offers a 24-hour Customs-Border crossing into Morson, Sioux narrows, Kenora and many areas in Ontario, Canada.
